Faced with the unutterable, words still disintigrate...
And ever new, out of the most quivering stones, music builds her divine house in useless space.

uptight
i think American Beauty is the film that a "dissatisfied," yet thoroughly comfortable suburbanite would make about suburbia. "things are like messed up in suburbia because like people are so like uptight about sex and pot... even though like old guys and young chicks shouldn't do it, you know? And like it sucks for gay people in suburbia, cuz they're uptight about that too." i think that's about the extent of what American Beauty means. (Why did I formerly like it so much?) There was really no amazing points made. Nothing transcendent about it. The bag scene might have been ok, except that it was more extremely pretentious than actually beautiful. I mean, certainly, beauty can be captured in anything, and certainly sometimes, if you allow yourself to appreciate it, it can be everywhere and it can be overwhelming, but the bag scene... somehow just... well it's too late to put thoughts to words now... g'night
