Faced with the unutterable, words still disintigrate...
And ever new, out of the most quivering stones, music builds her divine house in useless space.

God Bless The USA
www.ci.org is a great place to go to sign up to sponser a hungry child. compassion is a wonderful organization. trustworthy.
you can afford it. where are your priorities? Hi-definition TV or -human lives-? High-speed internet access, or children having food? Unlimited long distance on a cell phone, or a child's education?
The US is by percentage the least generous country, ever.
With compassion, you get letters from your child and can write him/her as well. you can send them christmas and birthday gifts, tell them about yourself, find out about them, and support their education and health. it is an amazing oppourtunity. i have benefited more by reading -one- letter from my child, Vipavine, who lives in Thailand, than i have lost by what i pay. i haven't -lost- anything. i've gained a new perspective. learned to love more. learned to care about the less fortunate more. they are not merely statistics, they are people--they are children. we can afford to feed so many people. their survival depends on us. do something. please.
i am not perfect. i sponser one child. i could afford more. i could do much much more. i only know that if everyone would at least help one child, that would make a world of difference.
I don't like guilt or scare tactics, but I know people need to hear the truth. Why are people so oblivious to this??? thousands are dying of hunger daily. We all pitch in for 9/11 aid, but what? Screw everyone else? Are we that egotistical? Certainly 9-11 was an awful, unthinkable tragedy, but what is the death of 40,000 children? DAILY?!?!?!? Where's that "American Spirit" there? Where the fuck did all the generosity go? Into buying flags and fireworks? Wake up and smell the corpses folks. The children's corpses. The thousands of emaciated, helpless children, lying dead. Every day.
