Faced with the unutterable, words still disintigrate...
And ever new, out of the most quivering stones, music builds her divine house in useless space.

today was a beautiful day.
here are some things that were beautiful about it:
having no midi class, and instead listening to dan's mix cd thru the midi lab speakers and even studying a little.
seeing jackie as a barefoot, cigarette-smoking huck finn.
visiting bethany's room and playing mario kart.
seeing Alice's stuff.
practicing IV music--fun with my drum machine and a djembe and other percussion.
visiting jon bibb.
going to the nest with ed and jenn and dave.
playing basketball.
visiting john daubert.
mock-fighting with erik.
jesus.

oh, and the weather was rather nice.

...and you know, as beautiful as that sigur ros video is, and as much as i feel i get out of seeing it, that art is nothing, and i mean nothing, compared to interacting with real human beings. people are so amazing. God is so amazing to have made them. people are so complex and beautiful and unique. sometimes, i get to thinking about people i know, and it just overwhelms me how i am blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful, diverse, real, beautiful--no, gorgeous, emotive, vivacious, loving, hating, caring, important, honest, intelligent, precious, sacred individuals. i cannot express my gratitude towards all of you. i thank God for every single one of you. i just hope people can see that. i just hope people know that i love them, truly. as often as i quote him on it, don chaffer really did say it best:
and they were beautiful, all of us beautiful, all of us crawling on hands and knees in need of You...
and so i must close with the rest of that song as my prayer:
let them find their redemption down deep in your eyes
