Faced with the unutterable, words still disintigrate...
And ever new, out of the most quivering stones, music builds her divine house in useless space.

i woke up

yes the song is stuck in my head. not only that--it is drowning out all else.
i already know i am not going to sleep much tonight. nor find much peace.

everythiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing

i really hate music. it has taken over my life. no longer is it a pleasurable past time. it is an unavoidable cage. as a listener i am still barely aware of things. at least, in the elitist sense. which is sick. but i can't help it. i am addicted. and i think it decreases my libido. at least radiohead does. and Bob Dylan. definitely not Bjork though. she is very sexual. not in a slutty, bad R&B, or even a Marvin Gaye way. She just has manages to take the emotional side part of a sex drive, rather than the physical part, and put it into primitive music. apparently, she stole most of her current style from Plaid. Plaid is probably the best listen-to-able techno band ever. Warp Records of course. I just heard them recently, but they definitely rocked my world. it's like my friend said "they're what i thought techno would be like when i first started listening to it." and i mean that in a good way [not in a trance way]. they make trance music smell bad. and, unlike autechre, who are certainly amazing, these guys don't require nearly so much of an open or patient mind.

in its riiiiiiiiight place

so pitchfork thinks my bloody valentine made the number one album of the 90's, eh? slightly better even than the worshipped OK Computer. I really think i will buy it. not just on their word, because i like my bloody valentine anyway. they have that special noise-rock covered in distorted things yet sweet and soft sound. see, i can't fucking talk about anything but music. this is disgusting, i am losing my mind.

two colors

i think keyboards might be my thing. i wrote another song on our awfully out-of-tune piano. i really like this song. lyrics and vocals too. a whole song. that's a good feeling, friend. certainly it is radiohead-influenced, but not mere mimicry i hope. i don't intend to rip-off anyone's sound. i don't think i could rip radiohead off even if i wanted to. besides, i wouldn't have the production to come close to sounding like they do... i could rip off pablo honey, but that would be no great feat.

what rhyme

why do people mention travis and coldplay after radiohead? they do not come near sounding like radiohead. they are mellow shiny brit-pop. nice, pleasant, but nothing spectacular. i could listen to them in someone else's car without complaining. in fact, most people would probably not complain. they probably wouldn't really remember them much either. both bands are unamazing. nice, but unamazing. i definitely have to agree with pitchfork on this one. pitchfork may have even been too nice, but then again, i didn't give the guys much of a chance after my initial dissapointment.

but i should try to sleep.

stupid graduation practice.

and everyone gets to see my awful haircut... sweet.
