the calendar hung itself
well, that's kind of interesting. i got this thing that lets me monitor where people are coming from to get to this site... and there are definitely some seedy sites that people are coming from. for the moment, i'll let that part go--my real concern is: did you really have to search for those sites with msn??????? i mean, the best search engine, without a doubt, is google. i don't care what kind of illegal material you're looking for, if you want to find something, google is the place to go! but really, tho i disapprove entirely of the content viewed, i love you [whoever you are] anyway. so does jesus.

a comment on pornography though. i don't mean to preach but at least inform. first off, an interesting statistic: at a recent point in time, our country had 9,000 McDonalds eating establishments, and 25,000 pornography outlets. [fast]food for thought. but that's mostly arbitrary to what i want to say.

pornography does a lot of bad things.
1) pornography basically teaches that exploitation is beauty. the "best" women have the largest breasts. screaming "no!" is a part of the act. strangers who have bared themselves for the public become objects of adoration. that is not beautiful--it is corrupt. Pornography instills within the viewer the ability to use images of others for self-satisfying personal benefit, and then simply discard them as though they have no worth.
2) something as beautiful as sex--intended as the final consumation and continual celebration of a lifelong marital relationship--becomes a means to an end. rather than embracing another human being who you love, cherish, live with, are committed to, and would die for; you are merely looking for an orgasm--instant gratification [sex becomes like fast food].
3) porn embraces and enhances a fantasy world. a world where every woman wants the viewer. The confusion established by pornography blurs the line between fantasy and reality. The porn user begins to hold everyone up to the physical and sexual standards established in the fantasy world of pornography. Not only that, but the seemingly realistic fantasies in the world of pornography attach themselves to the mindset of the pornography user, carrying over into their everyday lives. Clinging to their views and actions, this warped sense of sexual reality influences everything. All person-to-person interaction is influenced by the warped viewpoint in one way or another. Even everyday conversation and communication becomes a sexual assessment, allowing the pornography user to fantasize about anyone he or she comes in contact with. This is not to say everyone who has ever viewed pornography suddenly drops out of reality completely and entirely loses the ability to communicate without sexual intentions--that's ridiculous--the point is that pornographic material influences day-to-day life, to varying extents depending on the person and the frequency of usage, in a very negative way.
4) In pornography, it seems as though there are no negative consequences to any sexual actions. People don't think about STDs, pregnancies, social consequnces, emotional consequences, relationships--the sole emphasis is on the now. what pleasure I can get right now.
5) Porn is anti-human [anti-femenist and anti-"masculinist"]. Pornography teaches that the human subject (whether male or female) exists merely for the user's pleasure at any given time. Predominantly, pornography portrays women as objects to be used for selfish sexual pleasure, often at their own expense. In most hardcore pornography, rape and pain are falsely portrayed as pleasurable. No doesn't really mean no. Women all want it.
thus far, i've used my own comments mixed with those of pfy, but here they say it so well on their own:
6)"Another sexual falsehood that comes to be accepted by the user of pornography is that, like in masturbation, the speed in which sexual climax is attained is what is truly important about the act of sex. Masturbation is an act seen, at large, as something to be ashamed of, and so it is carried out speedily in secret. When someone who is accustomed to this "speedy sexuality" engages in sexual relations with another person, they act in a way to bring satisfaction to themselves as quickly as possible. This leaves the other person feeling unwanted, unneeded, and used. Pornography teaches a lesson of sex without foreplay or intimacy. It establishes sex as simply another product to be consumed, something easily shelved and packaged nicely for quick and easy access. Through pornography, the true intimacy of what sex can be has become something distorted and broken."
in fact, there is much more that they say that i would like to repeat, but if you care that much you can go visit pfy brochures and click on " Pornography and the Lessons it Teaches." otherwise, you've probably stopped reading already.
you know where you are with
in conclusion, i'm not perfect. far from it. i feel almost hypocritical saying what i said, because this was fromerly a struggle, but God brought me through it and i've had very few slip-ups since then. regardless, though my actions may be flawed, these are my beliefs. i intend to stick by them as much as possible. but like i said, i'm not perfect. i'm about as screwed up as it gets. i'm not out to judge, but i just thought if anyone is listening who this concerns, they might care.
