Faced with the unutterable, words still disintigrate...
And ever new, out of the most quivering stones, music builds her divine house in useless space.

i definitely love this ...trail of dead album. wonderful wonderful wonderful. a nice -awake- album. alot of good albums make me feel like i'm kind of dreaming. this one is very awake and aware feeling. i can do other things while listening to it, but it is still worth my attention... twinkly guitar riffs but heavily distorted chords too... innovative drumming, but not dreamy drumming... almost tribal-like, except more fierce. some singing. even some happy, pleasant singing. no whining [thank god]. innovative song structures [not really verse-chorus-verse-chorus], but still catchy. exploding rather than imploding. as much as i love mogwai, EDM, songs:ohia, godspeed and the bunch, i need a shot in the arm now and then. this album is not very self-indulgent, though it does have some cool intro/outro stuff and bonus-type tracks.
i really like dead poet's society and i don't care what you think of it. :)
i'm very very very very very sick of caring about other people's distate for my taste. i don't know why it's such a problem for me. i guess i lack confidence in my decisions merely because i've made a lot of stupid ones... it's hard for me to seperate sound advice from subjective discouragement. i need to work on that.
going to go record background vocals for a friend's hammer-dulcimer cd tonight. this is not the right cd to get myself into that kind of mood. ah well.
maybe i'll scream a little... dulcimer-core... ha!
