how to disappear completely
So apparently they're [oh, the proverbial "they"] are able to now make "paint-on" LCDs that could go on flexible plastic [able to be put in your pocket], paper, even clothing. So you could, say, wallpaper your home in LCD and change the color anytime you desire. You could paint a shirt and change it every day. You could be a walking tv. You could have coke cans with commercials playing on them. You could cover the sidewalk in advertisements. You could paint a changeable tattoo on your arm. You could cover yourself in LCD so that it would continually change to mimic the immediate environment--the ultimate camoflauge. So yeah, these sound pretty impressive and scary. The technology buff in me is drooling while the anti-corporation part is screaming "no! no! no!" I mean, there could be immense benefits--ie people using technology -outdoors- and not staying inside constantly. But there are alot of scary things: walking porn, more advertisements, no escape from media, "invisible" serial killers, "invisible" terrorists, the loss of appreciation for -real- things over digital things. Less enthusiasm for real visual arts. Conversion of all books into digital form. Complete impersonality.
Weird.
How can you honestly say that you're content with me?
