Faced with the unutterable, words still disintigrate...
And ever new, out of the most quivering stones, music builds her divine house in useless space.

They say the best things in life are free.
that certainly applied tonight.
Fugazi at the UofR outdoor Greek amphitheatre.
Free.
let me repeat[er] that.
Fugazi. Free.
amazing.
so much energy. so together. so amazing,
punk rock?
not really.
they certainly came out of that scene.
but not the 3 chord standard 2-minute adrenaline rush.
the stop-start loud-soft dynamics make your heart hit your chest
they never use set-lists... they decide what would sound best next as they go
as the man said:
"We've just had a conversation and we know what we're going to play next, but thanks for the suggestions."
Fugazi may as well never have recorded anything.
they are too [a]live.
they didn't play anything from 13 songs at all!
they only played like 2 from Repeater.
I could be wrong bc i do not know every song by heart, but i'm pretty sure of that.
but that's ok. they ended with the one that goes "We owe you nothing. [nothing!] you have no control."
fun song.
They definitely rock.
you can tell they've been doing it for a while. they know what they're doing. they are together. they are comfortable. they are great.
I can't wait till MacRock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
